Meet Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore: A Man of Many Talents

 

Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore is a well-known Indian politician, Olympic medalist, and retired army officer. He is currently serving as a cabinet minister in the Government of Rajasthan.

Mr Rathore was born on January 29, 1970, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. His father was an army colonel, and his mother was a teacher. He studied at the National Defence Academy and the Infantry School. He married Gayatri Rathore, a doctor, in 1997, and they have two children.

Mr Rathore is a skilled shooter and won 25 international medals, including a silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. He served in the Indian Army for many years and retired as a colonel in 2013.

 

After retiring from the army, Mr Rathore acted in some TV shows and advertisements. He then joined politics and became a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party in 2014. He was elected to the Lok Sabha and served as a minister in the Indian government.

In 2023,Mr  Rathore contested in the Rajasthan state elections and won by a large margin. He resigned from the Lok Sabha and took oath as a cabinet minister in the Government of Rajasthan.

Mr Rathore has received many awards for his achievements, including the Padma Shri, the Major Dhyan Chand Khel Ratna Award, and the Arjuna Award. He was also the flag bearer for India at the 2008 Summer Olympics and the 2006 Commonwealth Games.
