Dr. Chandradeep Hada, a senior theatre personality from Rajasthan, has been conferred the prestigious Tagore National Scholarship by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India. This research project will focus on disaster management in the context of India’s performing arts, exploring classical, folk, and modern art forms.
Research Focus
The two-year research project, facilitated by West Zone Cultural Centre, Udaipur, will involve interviewing and interacting with artists from Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa. The study aims to develop a policy for the protection and promotion of India’s performing arts during natural disasters and human-made crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Hada’s Vision
Dr. Hada stated, “This research will compile valuable suggestions and solutions from renowned artists to support the Government of India in creating a comprehensive policy. Our goal is to ensure the continuous preservation and encouragement of India’s performing arts, safeguarding artists during crises.
