Jaipur Waterlogging Hotspots 2025: JMC Identifies 74 Areas Ahead of Monsoon Season
As monsoon clouds gather over Rajasthan, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has issued a comprehensive list of 74 waterlogging hotspots in Jaipur to prevent monsoon chaos. This move comes as part of the city’s pre-monsoon preparedness strategy to tackle frequent flooding in key urban areas.
Critical Waterlogging Zones Identified
According to civic officials, some of the most flood-prone locations in Jaipur include:
-
Sikar Road
-
Vidhyadhar Nagar
-
Gopalpura Bypass
-
Mansarovar
-
Tonk Road
-
Badi Chaupar
-
Chandpole
-
New Sanganer Road
-
Jhotwara Circle
-
Raja Park and adjoining colonies
These areas experience severe waterlogging due to poor drainage infrastructure, low-lying geography, and debris-clogged nullahs.
Civic Response & Coordination
The JMC, in collaboration with the Public Works Department (PWD) and Jaipur Smart City Ltd, is gearing up with heavy-duty pumps, emergency vehicles, and manpower to counter possible urban flooding.
“We’ve deployed additional tankers and pumps in vulnerable spots,” said the Additional District Collector (South). Civic teams will be on 24/7 alert during heavy rainfall events to address blockages and assist commuters.
Monsoon Management Measures
-
Regular desilting of drains and nullahs
-
Real-time monitoring of rain-affected zones
-
Control rooms activated for emergency complaints
-
Deployment of disaster response teams
Public Safety Advisory
Residents are advised to:

Avoid commuting during peak downpours in affected areas
-
Report waterlogging through the JMC Helpline
-
Follow local weather alerts issued by the IMD Jaipur
Why It Matters
Waterlogging in Jaipur has previously caused traffic gridlocks, vehicle damage, and health risks. The proactive identification of hotspots ensures timely intervention and better civic planning during the 2025 monsoon season.
Prepared Jaipur, Protected Jaipur
With heavy rains expected in the coming weeks, the JMC’s alert on Jaipur waterlogging hotspots acts as a crucial step toward monsoon readiness. Residents are encouraged to stay informed, cooperate with civic guidelines, and ensure community safety throughout the season.
