His presence radiates both strength and humility, embodying the hopes of thousands of aspirants fighting for their rightful 5-year age relaxation and 9 attempts in competitive exams.
In an exclusive interview, Jaipur Explore Magazine delves into his vision, struggles, and the path ahead.
Interview;
Runa Sayeed: Vikram ji, your leadership has become a beacon of hope for EWS aspirants. What inspired you to take this stand?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Thank you, Runa ji. This is not just my fight; it is a fight for thousands of hardworking EWS candidates who, despite their economic struggles, dare to dream of serving the nation. While other reserved categories get age relaxation and additional attempts, EWS candidates are left behind. This injustice compelled me to raise my voice. Our only demand is a fair and level playing field—nothing more, nothing less.
Runa Sayeed: Why is this demand for age relaxation and additional attempts so crucial?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Many EWS aspirants cannot afford early coaching or exclusive study resources. By the time they stabilize financially and start preparing seriously, they have already lost crucial years. A 5-year age relaxation and 9 attempts will ensure that financial constraints do not become an unfair barrier to success. The government recognized the need for EWS reservation—now, it must take the next logical step.
Runa Sayeed: You have repeatedly emphasized the importance of a peaceful protest. Why is this approach significant?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Because discipline and dignity define us. We believe in lawful, democratic advocacy. Change does not come from aggression but from persistence. When thousands stand together peacefully, with determination in their hearts and clarity in their demands, the system has to listen. That is the power of unity.
Runa Sayeed: Your call for unity includes not just EWS candidates but also General and OBC (State List) aspirants. What is the strategy behind this?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Our movement is about justice, not division. Many OBC candidates who belong to the State List but not the Central List face similar struggles. They, too, can benefit from EWS provisions. And many in the General category support fairness. When we stand together, we strengthen our cause. This is not just about EWS; this is about equal opportunities for all.
Runa Sayeed: You are leading a movement that could change the future of thousands. What challenges have you faced in this journey?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Every movement faces resistance—official delays, lack of awareness, and the challenge of mobilizing people. But challenges only fuel my resolve. When I see a student struggling because of unfair policies, I know that our fight is worth it.
Runa Sayeed: How can people contribute to this movement and strengthen the cause?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Simple: show up, spread the word, and stay persistent.
1. Join the protest at Jantar Mantar—every single person adds to our strength.
2. Bring friends, batchmates, and aspirants—EWS, General, and OBC (State List).
3. Use social media to share our cause.
4. Write to policymakers and media houses—pressure creates change.
The bigger our numbers, the harder it will be to ignore us.
Runa Sayeed: What is your final message to the government?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: Our demand is fair, logical, and essential. We are not asking for favors—only for the same opportunities granted to others. If the government is serious about uplifting the EWS community, it must take immediate action. We trust that the authorities will listen and act in the spirit of justice.
Runa Sayeed: Finally, what message do you want to give to aspirants who believe in this cause?
Vikram Singh Dhodhliya: I’ll quote Alexander the Great:
“Do your duties diligently as the destiny of you and others depend on it.”
This is our time. If we do not act now, the next generation will suffer the same injustice. Stand up, speak up, and march forward—together, we will bring change!
Conclusion;
As Vikram Singh Dhodhliya stands firm in the heart of the protest, his words ignite a fire of hope. The movement is more than a demand—it is a revolution for fairness. On 23rd March, from 10 AM to 1 PM, Jantar Mantar will witness a historic moment.
