One of the most talked about event in Rajasthan is the marvelous Pushkar Fair or the Pushkar Camel Fair. This is a 7 day colorful and lively set up which brings and connects together a large number of camels, cattle and horses. It will be a fun filled extravaganza with lots of sports, religious and cultural events. Chief Minister Shri Ashok Gehlot will inaugurate this mega event on 1st of November and the fair will end on 9th of November.

The major points of attraction of this fair are the Camel Safari and Horse Safari. These experiences will allow you to explore the beautiful Indian desert during sunrise and sunset. The beauty of this royal city can also be cherished through the hot air balloon ride.

The majestic Pushkar Mela is said to be 100 years old and is held to celebrate the auspicious Kartik Purnima in the Lunar month of Kartik as per the Hindu Calender. Pilgrims from all over the world and people from nearby villages visit the Pushkar mela to take the holy dip at the sacred lake. They also visit the Lord Brahma temple which is the one and only in the whole world.

Many competitions are held during the fair in which the villagers and artists take active part and grace the events with their amazing art and talents. The Camel competition is the major attraction of the whole event. As camels are an integral part of the culture and festivals of Rajasthan, camel owners decorate them in vibrant accessories and clothes, paint them and hang attractive bells around their necks to make them stand out in the whole fair.
