The Prime Minister was earlier scheduled to go to the venue by helicopter, but due to bad weather, it was decided to go by road. The Prime Minister’s convoy was going by road to the Martyrs Memorial in Hussainiwala, but some protesters blocked the road on the Pyareona flyover and the Prime Minister was stuck there for 20 minutes.
This incident is a serious lapse in the security of the Prime Minister. Due to which his convoy decided to return back to Bathinda. The Prime Minister was to lay the foundation stone for development projects worth over Rs 42,750 crore, including the satellite center of Chandigarh-based Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (CHD) in Ferozepur and the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.
The prime minister’s car cad getting stuck on a flyover is an even more serious matter as this flyover can also be blown up by explosion. Ordinarily the Prime Minister goes on a tour to any state, then he is received by the Chief Minister of that state, Chief Secretary, Director General of Police and other dignitaries, but the Chief Minister of Punjab does not reach Bathinda and the Chief Secretary during the visit of the Prime Minister And the absence of the Director General of Police makes the incident suspicious. The Union Home Ministry has termed this incident as a serious lapse in the security of the Prime Minister.
In this case the Supreme Court of India has also directed the Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana High Court to secure the records related to the travel of Punjab. The Central Government has constituted a committee under the leadership of Cabinet Secretary (Security) Shri Sudhir Kumar Saxena for a detailed inquiry into the incident, which included Shri Balvir Singh, Joint Director, Intelligence Bureau and Shri S Suresh, Inspector General, Special Protection Group. Is. The committee will provide a report after conducting a detailed inquiry into the incident. The Punjab government has also constituted a two-member committee to investigate the incident.
