JayKriti: Hello Runa, I was born in Kishangarh and ever since childhood, I would draw croquis and sketch clothes. After schooling and while pursuing College, I got married. and in As an infant brand, taking baby steps in the world of fashion, However, I am fashion designer & Textile Designer both. The journey has been exhilarating.
Runa: What was the inspiration behind “jaykriti”?
Jaykriti: Jaykriti –“I’ve always loved Dadi’s outfits,” you Can see here vibrant, velvet coats and just-traditional-enough clothes have been a big hit amongst all over. My all dresses are hand-sewn.
Perhaps some of the aspiring fashion designers contacting home sewing pattern designers are aware of these technicalities. like Block print, you can see only in Anokhi and Jaykirti’s collections but are faced with the not insignificant challenge of finding someone to custom design and grade a pattern for manufacture. that I had to do it all: design the garment, draft the pattern, source the fabric, style the samples, take photographs, write listings, promote the brand, and package the product. I finally found the worth in my work and realised that I have to do it all. There is value in the way I put it all together – the fabrics I choose, colours I pair, attention to detail and dedication to a quality product are enough for my work to stand out and appeal to customers. I see myself transitioning to my own designs at a leisurely pace. For now, home sewing patterns help me work smarter, not harder”.
Runa: What are the key elements for you when designing a collection each season?
Jaykritii: I am as a label believes in the unsurpassed legacy of Indian textiles and craftsmanship. It believes in restrained opulence and understated luxury and we as a brand cater to the average Indian woman and account for her figure flaws and cultural restrictions. Season after season as a brand we have incorporated the rich heritage of waves and surface ornamentation in our collection. Thus our label is inspired by brand Rajasthan, it‘s proud history, it’s glorious culture, exquisite textiles and intricate craftsmanship. And I also worked with Jaipur City Palace Museum

Jaykriti: Yes, I have faced many obstacles to overcome in my life’s path to get where I am today. I believe that if I dream it I can achieve it.
Runa: What are your plans for the future?
Jaykriti: I plan to make the brand more visible, work with more craftsmen and achieve global presence and appreciation.
Runa: What do you think are the keys to professional and business success for women in India?
Jaykritii: Women in India are still bound by traditions and cultural ethos. However to achieve the success they have to learn to prioritise and also learn delegation. This is not a normal obligation. “You not only have to do it well, because leading a business is something quite important, but also because I am the first business woman in my family I have to do it the best possible way so my family can continue support for me in the future. It is a big responsibility,” Because we know that in our traditional society women don’t become successful alone. They need the support of the men in their lives—as fathers, partners, peers and mentors. We all need to recognise and nurture female talent. So thanks to my family for their support. When women take their success into their own hands, when they take ownership of their achievements, development and ambition, there is no limit to what they can accomplish.
