Rajasthan Diwas is celebrated on 30 March marking the unification of the erstwhile princely states in the region into the State of Rajasthan. On 30th March 1949 the grand unification of the erstwhile princely states of Rajputana giving birth to Rajasthan state in the Union of India had taken place. 68 years ago on 30th March, 1949, this dessert land with architectural heritage, majestic forts, fairy tale- palaces and rooted cultural background formed India’s largest state by area. Rajasthan is a wonderful state in India that truly lives in accordance with the adage “Atithi Devo Bhava.” An exposed arid region yet lively, vivacious streets with dynamic and hospitable people say “Padharo Mhare Des.” The royal golden times and multihued festivals of Rajasthan with noble monuments and fortresses narrate the stories of the state’s splendid history. To acknowledge this day, Rajasthan tourism has organized a 4 day event with cultural programs, musical nights, visual mapping show at VidhanSabha, fashion walks, adventurous air shows and peaceful Bhajans, to be held in every nook and corner of the city. Celebrities from various fields will be honoring this festival and celebrating Rajasthan Diwas with us and we want to make sure you are present at all the most happening events organized by the state.

The Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan had organized an extravagant function on this occasion. There were folk dance performances, followed by seven tableaus from seven different divisions of Rajasthan – Ajmer, Bharatpur, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur.

The folk music and dance are important part of our culture and thus performed at every occasion, may it be a birth of a new born, anniversary or a welcome to the new season. The famous dance form of Rajasthan is Kalbelia, Terahtaali, Ghoomar, Chari, etc. Though dance is not the only art, music is considered important in the state of Rajasthan.Did you fall in love with the qawwali scenes from Rockstar?
